50s Prime Time Cafe

Updated 6/16/22 For the most up-to-date information about the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, please visit the   Walt Disney World Know Before You Go Guide. The 50s Prime Time Cafe is located inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park at Walt Disney World in Florida. This is a full service restaurant and provides a terrific, nostalgia themed overall experience but does NOT have characters present. You may just feel like you have walked into Great Grandma’s house when you walk into this 50’s era, good old fashioned restaurant serving up comfort foods from Momma, who’s back in the kitchen! At this time, lunch and dinners are being served from 10:45 AM to 3:55pm and 4:00pm is the start of dinner. Dinner hours vary around park closing. My favorite time to dine here currently, is just prior to park closing. When the nighttime spectaculars are in production, I prefer to dine here around 4:30 PM prior to night fall and in time to get a seat or spot for the show, s...

Sci-Fi Dine-In

Updated 6/16/22 For the most up-to-date information about the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, please visit the   Walt Disney World Know Before You Go Guide. One of the sit down dining restaurant options at Hollywood Studios is Sci-Fi Dine-In. Sci-Fi Dine-In has such a fun atmosphere! Guests sit at a table/booth that looks like you are sitting in a classic car facing a drive in theater screen. Cast Members call these “automo-booths.” Guests who are not seated in one of these automo-booths are seated at picnic style tables scattered around the perimeter of the restaurant. The lights are dimmed (and air conditioning feels AMAZING on a hot Florida day), so it feels like you are at a drive in watching old sci-fi movie clips while enjoying your meal. Since Sci-Fi Dine-In is located in Hollywood Studios, a valid park ticket and park pass reservation are required to dine there. Dining reservations are highly recommended, The best way to get to this restaurant from yo...

Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano

Updated 6/16/22 For the most up-to-date information about the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, please visit the   Walt Disney World Know Before You Go Guide. Tucked away in a corner of Disney’s Hollywood Studios near Grand Avenue sits a charming Italian restaurant that deserves a little attention and fanfare. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano is located in what appears to be a prop storage/equipment warehouse in an area that was utilized by the studios for shooting movies based in New York City’s Little Italy. The menu is a twist on California-Italian cuisine.  The ambiance can be described as “homey Italian” with a mixture of movie memorabilia, Italian-American records, celebrity photos, and countless trinkets. There is nothing fancy about the restaurant and I believe that is what makes it a very unique dining destination. The seating varies from large comfortable booths to tables with mismatched wood chairs. It all rounds up to a very cozy and relaxed ...

The Toy Story Land Countdown is Almost Over!

TOMORROW is the day! Toy Story Land at Disney's Hollywood Studios will officially open JUNE 30! In anticipation of this much awaited expansion, here is everything we know so far: As guests enter into Toy Story Land, they will shrink to the size of a toy and join in the fun that Woody, Jessie, Buzz and other toys are having in Andy's backyard. There are two new attractions in Toy Story Land that join the beloved Toy Story Mania which has been in place since 2008. Slinky Dog Dash is a family friendly roller coaster fun for all ages. From what we have gathered, the intensity seems to be about the same as Thunder Mountain Railroad. The height requirement for Slinky Dog Dash will be 38" and it is a Tier 1 attraction for fast passes. Disney describes this as, "Andy's assembled his awesome coaster kit...and Slinky Dog is ready to take you for a wild ride on a crazy coaster - one that gives you a glimpse of all that Toy Story Land has to offer. Come along as Slinky D...
