Sci-Fi Dine-In

Updated 6/16/22
For the most up-to-date information about the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, please visit the  Walt Disney World Know Before You Go Guide.

One of the sit down dining restaurant options at Hollywood Studios is Sci-Fi Dine-In. Sci-Fi Dine-In has such a fun atmosphere! Guests sit at a table/booth that looks like you are sitting in a classic car facing a drive in theater screen. Cast Members call these “automo-booths.” Guests who are not seated in one of these automo-booths are seated at picnic style tables scattered around the perimeter of the restaurant. The lights are dimmed (and air conditioning feels AMAZING on a hot Florida day), so it feels like you are at a drive in watching old sci-fi movie clips while enjoying your meal.

Since Sci-Fi Dine-In is located in Hollywood Studios, a valid park ticket and park pass reservation are required to dine there. Dining reservations are highly recommended, The best way to get to this restaurant from your resort is to take the bus or Skyliner to Hollywood Studios. Lunch is currently being served from 10:30 AM to 3:55 PM and dinner is served from 4:00 to 9:00 PM, with prices ranging from $15-$34.99 per adult. A menu for your Mouseketeers is available. When the Dining Plan is available, this will use one table service credit per person.

Sci-Fi Dine-In features American cuisine. The menu includes a selection of burgers, salads, and sandwiches. Whet your appetite with mouthwatering meal teasers that include Spinach and Artichoke Dip, Fried Dill Pickles, or Sci-Fi Smoked Wings that are out of this world! Desserts include a Hot Fudge Sundae or Red Planet Cheesecake. If you enjoy milkshakes, the ones served at Sci-Fi are not to be missed. The kid’s menu consists of Chicken Strips, Macaroni and Cheese, a Beef Skewer, or a Cheeseburger.

The Sci-Fi Dine-In offers a Fantasmic! Dining Package, which includes lunch or dinner and reserved, VIP seating for Fantasmic! The dining package includes one entree, an appetizer or dessert, and a nonalcoholic beverage. At time of publication, lunch and dinner are $49 per adult and $22 for children (age 3-9). Tax and gratuity are not included.

While we enjoy the food, our favorite part of Sci-Fi Dine-In is definitely the atmosphere! It is a nice break from the parks. One thing to note is that the automo-booths that you sit at are a bit small so it may feel like close quarters. One of the times we dined here, we had a group of six and unfortunately did not get to sit in a car, which was a disappointment. I have heard some say it is too dark inside, which makes it difficult to read menus and see their food, but we just use our cell phone for light when reading the menu and haven’t had trouble. The ambient lighting certainly adds to the drive-in feel. Overall, we love the atmosphere at Sci-Fi and enjoy the food. We would definitely recommend it to try for a special experience on your next visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Gaston's Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls

Cinnamon rolls are a must for me at Christmas and this is one of my favorite recipes for look-alike Gaston’s Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls! I found it on Inside the Magic , so all recipe credit belongs to them, but I have copied it below with some of my commentary and photos of my step by step process. Homemade cinnamon rolls are always going to be a bit time consuming, but these only have to proof for 40 minutes total so it’s really not bad at all! First things first, here are the materials you’re going to need: Mixer (one with a dough hook will make your life much much easier) and bowl Rubber scrapers Rolling pin 2-3 saucepans Microwave safe bowls An area big enough to roll them out 2 metal sheet pans with edges Measuring cups Measuring spoons Medium sized bowl for filling Liquid measuring cup The nice thing about the recipe is it uses pretty basic ingredients that you likely already have at your house. I went to Aldi and bought nearly everything just to see and it was about $20. A...
