Jaleo

Updated 6/16/22 For the most up-to-date information about the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, please visit the   Walt Disney World Know Before You Go Guide. Jaleo is a Signature Restaurant located in Disney Springs. One of the perks of dining at restaurants at Disney Springs is that you don’t need a park ticket to dine as it is free to enter and enjoy Disney Springs. Jaleo is located on the West Side of Disney Springs so park in the Orange Garage if driving for the closest parking option. If staying on property or coming from a Disney Park, you can take Disney transportation to Disney Springs. Jaleo brings the flavors of Spain to your Disney vacation by serving tapas or full sized meals for lunch or dinner. They do an excellent job of incorporating the culture of Spain through a unique mix of casual and energetic atmospheres. If you aren’t familiar with tapas, tapas are a smaller portion of a dish or meal. Tapas can be eaten alone or are shared with the table. Therefo

Christmas in July

Back in December, one of our awesome clients took her family to Walt Disney World over the Christmas holiday. We get a lot of questions about what the parks are really like during this very busy week, and Mandy has been kind enough to allow us to share her thoughts. Please remember that in December of 2019, Park Pass Reservations were not required and FastPasses were still in place. So when you read, remember back to the good ol’ days pre-Covid, and (eventually) post-Covid. My take is this - if you HAVE to visit Disney during that week, it is still a wonderful time. That being said - I wouldn’t pick that week again unless I had no other option. (This is the boat we were in this year with scheduling so I’m glad we did it). Going during the busiest time requires lots of organization, prep work, and lots of knowledge about the parks. The crowds are insane, so if you don’t know what you are doing, I imagine it would equal lots of frustration and might even seem like a big waste of time and

Il Mulino

Updated 6/16/22 For the most up-to-date information about the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, please visit the   Walt Disney World Know Before You Go Guide. While this isn’t exactly a Disney restaurant, it is on Disney property located in the Swan Hotel and is a Henkle family favorite. This is definitely a Signature Dining experience and is only open for dinner. You will want to wear slightly nicer clothes than your regular park wear, and while I couldn’t find any specific rules, you probably won’t catch any families with young children here (read: date night location). Since Il Mulino is located in the Swan Hotel, you do not need park admission, but will need a work around to get here. If you have a car, you can of course drive. If not, you probably want to get yourself to the International Gateway at Epcot where you can catch a boat or walk over to the Swan. It is also a walkable distance from the Boardwalk, Yacht Club, and Beach Club. If you are able, plan to spen

Jiko - The Cooking Place

Updated 6/16/22 For the most up-to-date information about the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, please visit the   Walt Disney World Know Before You Go Guide. If you are looking for exotic flavors and a Signature Dining experience at Disney World, head over to a restaurant that is slightly off the beaten path, Jiko – The Cooking Place. Jiko is tucked away at the beautiful Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Jambo House. The name Jiko means “the cooking place” and is in reference to the huge wood-burning ovens in the middle of the restaurant. The menu focuses on traditional African, Indian, and Mediterranean cuisine. Jiko has participated in the Disney Dining Plan and required two credits. (As a reminder, Disney currently is not offering Dining Plans.) If you are paying out of pocket, you can expect to spend $40-$60 per person on entrees. The restaurant is open daily for dinner, so be sure to make an advanced dining reservation! There are a few ways to arrive at Disney’s Ani
