Il Mulino

Updated 6/16/22
For the most up-to-date information about the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, please visit the  Walt Disney World Know Before You Go Guide.

While this isn’t exactly a Disney restaurant, it is on Disney property located in the Swan Hotel and is a Henkle family favorite. This is definitely a Signature Dining experience and is only open for dinner. You will want to wear slightly nicer clothes than your regular park wear, and while I couldn’t find any specific rules, you probably won’t catch any families with young children here (read: date night location).

Since Il Mulino is located in the Swan Hotel, you do not need park admission, but will need a work around to get here. If you have a car, you can of course drive. If not, you probably want to get yourself to the International Gateway at Epcot where you can catch a boat or walk over to the Swan. It is also a walkable distance from the Boardwalk, Yacht Club, and Beach Club. If you are able, plan to spend some time before or after your meal exploring these resorts - it’s such a nice walk around the water and the Boardwalk area comes alive at night with entertainment options.

As a Signature Dining experience, adult meals are typically $35-60. And I tell you what - it is worth every penny. If you like Italian food - and I’m talking true Italian, not like Olive Garden - I am confident you will LOVE Il Mulino. I dream about the Pollo Parmigiana (chicken parmesan) here, it is literally that good. I’m 100% serious when I say I have never had something I didn’t like here. It is truly all delicious. Plus, Italian food is pretty accessible even for the pickiest of eaters.

This is absolutely worth the trip over to the Swan. The ambiance is relaxed and elegant. The food is incredible. What more do you want? You can also get there early and enjoy the lounge where you can get a really nice glass of wine or cocktail before enjoying potentially the best meal on Disney property. Honestly, just go. Make your reservations as soon as possible!

Gaston's Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls

Cinnamon rolls are a must for me at Christmas and this is one of my favorite recipes for look-alike Gaston’s Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls! I found it on Inside the Magic , so all recipe credit belongs to them, but I have copied it below with some of my commentary and photos of my step by step process. Homemade cinnamon rolls are always going to be a bit time consuming, but these only have to proof for 40 minutes total so it’s really not bad at all! First things first, here are the materials you’re going to need: Mixer (one with a dough hook will make your life much much easier) and bowl Rubber scrapers Rolling pin 2-3 saucepans Microwave safe bowls An area big enough to roll them out 2 metal sheet pans with edges Measuring cups Measuring spoons Medium sized bowl for filling Liquid measuring cup The nice thing about the recipe is it uses pretty basic ingredients that you likely already have at your house. I went to Aldi and bought nearly everything just to see and it was about $20. A...
