Big River Grille & Brewing Works

Updated 6/16/22
For the most up-to-date information about the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, please visit the  Walt Disney World Know Before You Go Guide.

Big River Grille & Brewing Works, located at Disney’s Boardwalk, is a great place to dine or have a craft beer for those that enjoy adult beverages. While not inside the Boardwalk Inn resort, it is just down the steps. So if you’re traveling from a park or resort, it’s best to take a bus or ferry boat to the Boardwalk. Busses do not travel from resort to resort, so if you’re traveling from your home resort, you’ll need to first visit a theme park and catch a bus or boat from there. Ride Share or taxis are also a good, quick option. If you’re at Epcot, it’s also a very short walk from the International Gateway. If you’re at Hollywood Studios, you can take the Skyliner to Epcot’s International Gateway and walk from there. Because it is on the Boardwalk, a park pass and park reservation are not required to dine here. However, advanced dining reservations are recommended. Lunch and dinner are served from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM (the menu is the same for both meals). While dining plans have not yet returned to Disney World, this would typically use one table service credit.

Big River Grille is a pretty typical brew pub, but the location is super convenient if you need a little break from the crowds at Epcot or Hollywood Studios. There is a great outdoor seating space that looks out onto Crescent Lake. Enjoy twists on American pub grub classics from BBQ ribs and mashed potatoes to gourmet burgers and sandwiches. There are children’s menu classics including hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken sandwiches, pasta, and grilled cheese. The highlight of dining here is the immense selection of handcrafted beers, an extensive selection of wines, margaritas and specialty cocktails. You can expect your meal here to cost anywhere from $15-$35 per person depending on what you order.

While this dining experience isn’t necessarily one of a kind, it is consistent and a great meal for what you’re paying. It’s a great place to stop if you’ve had a long day at the pool, or maybe you’ve just arrived to your resort and want a good meal after your long day of travel. The best part for my family is the huge collection of craft beers, which, I don’t know about you, but I could definitely use after a long day of travel.

Gaston's Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls

Cinnamon rolls are a must for me at Christmas and this is one of my favorite recipes for look-alike Gaston’s Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls! I found it on Inside the Magic , so all recipe credit belongs to them, but I have copied it below with some of my commentary and photos of my step by step process. Homemade cinnamon rolls are always going to be a bit time consuming, but these only have to proof for 40 minutes total so it’s really not bad at all! First things first, here are the materials you’re going to need: Mixer (one with a dough hook will make your life much much easier) and bowl Rubber scrapers Rolling pin 2-3 saucepans Microwave safe bowls An area big enough to roll them out 2 metal sheet pans with edges Measuring cups Measuring spoons Medium sized bowl for filling Liquid measuring cup The nice thing about the recipe is it uses pretty basic ingredients that you likely already have at your house. I went to Aldi and bought nearly everything just to see and it was about $20. A...
