Boatwright's

Updated 6/16/22
For the most up-to-date information about the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, please visit the  Walt Disney World Know Before You Go Guide.

A restored boat workshop welcomes guests each evening to a Southern Louisiana cooking experience on the bayou. This nautical-themed eatery has antique shipbuilding tools hanging throughout the restaurant and a suspended skeleton of a 46 foot lugger boat as the centerpiece of the restaurant. Located at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, this restaurant overlooking the Sassagoula River, specializes in southern style cuisine with a comfortable atmosphere for all Walt Disney World guests.

Boatwright’s Jambalaya, Deep South Shrimp and Grits, and the All-You-Care-To-Enjoy Chef’s Platter (with Nashville hot chicken) make for a dinner full of flavor. There are plenty of cocktails to go along with your meal (available at an additional cost). If you have room for dessert, I highly recommend trying the Mississippi Mud Crème Brulee, Banana Cream Pie Bread Pudding, or the  Pecan Pie Cheesecake. Children can choose their own entree from the Kids’ Create-Your-Own Entree menu.

If you are traveling from a Disney park or returning to a park after dining at Boatwright’s Dining Hall, you can use Disney bus transportation. If you are traveling between your resort and Port Orleans-Riverside, you can use Disney transportation to go to a theme park, then transfer to the Port Orleans Bus. For those time conscious guests, utilizing a taxi or rideshare will cut down on travel time. If you are at Disney Springs, simply hop on a boat to head over to the Port Orleans Resort. Even though Boatwright’s is a little off the beaten path, you will not be disappointed by taking the time to visit.

Dinner is offered daily from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Boatwright’s Dining Hall is family-friendly and theme park attire is welcomed. The restaurant participates in the Disney Dining Plan and requires 1 table-service credit. (As a reminder, Disney currently is not offering Dining Plans). If you are paying out of pocket, you can expect to spend $25-$59.99 per person.

My family has dined at Boatwright’s Dining Hall a few times over the years. It is a fun and unique dining experience after a full day of visiting Disney World. We enjoy the opportunity to dine at a resort restaurant with delicious food, unique atmosphere, and a friendly waitstaff. We also treasure the opportunity to step away from the theme park restaurants and reflect on a fun day at the parks!

If you are looking for a satisfying meal full of Southern flavors, head down to the Sassagoula River to Boatwright’s Dining Hall!

Gaston's Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls

Cinnamon rolls are a must for me at Christmas and this is one of my favorite recipes for look-alike Gaston’s Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls! I found it on Inside the Magic , so all recipe credit belongs to them, but I have copied it below with some of my commentary and photos of my step by step process. Homemade cinnamon rolls are always going to be a bit time consuming, but these only have to proof for 40 minutes total so it’s really not bad at all! First things first, here are the materials you’re going to need: Mixer (one with a dough hook will make your life much much easier) and bowl Rubber scrapers Rolling pin 2-3 saucepans Microwave safe bowls An area big enough to roll them out 2 metal sheet pans with edges Measuring cups Measuring spoons Medium sized bowl for filling Liquid measuring cup The nice thing about the recipe is it uses pretty basic ingredients that you likely already have at your house. I went to Aldi and bought nearly everything just to see and it was about $20. A...
