Coral Reef has an amazing atmosphere! We have loved dining here throughout the years for two very different reasons. My husband’s favorite hobby is taking care of our six saltwater tanks (yes, I said six), so he loves that each table at Coral Reef has a view of an enormous coral reef that is home to more than 2,000 sea creatures. I love it because I am an 80’s baby and remember it being the location where Danny proposed to Vicky on Full House. Either way, we love coming here!
The atmosphere is themed to match the huge glass views of the aquarium. It is relaxed, quiet, and feels upscale for sit-down dining in a park. While every table has a view of the coral reef, guests can ask to be seated at a table right next to the aquarium. We have at times asked to do this and have only had to wait an extra 15 minutes or so to get a table. If this is something that you desire, it is recommended to arrive a little early for your reservation to make the request. When we’ve been seated there, the kids received handouts that talked about some of the sea creatures they may see swimming by as we eat.
As you can likely guess, the main dining options at Coral Reef are seafood, however, there are also chicken and salad options if you have someone that does not like seafood. I will say that if you don’t like seafood, you may want to review the menu to ensure there is an option that you like, as the majority of their options are seafood related. My favorite thing to get at Coral Reef is the entree of shrimp. We have enjoyed our food at Coral Reef, but will say that it is on the pricey end, so it makes even more sense to dine here if you are using dining credits from a dining plan when it is available. Plus, part of the price is getting this very unique dining experience right next to marine life. This is also a great place to split a meal so that you can take advantage of the appetizer and dessert menu.
Coral Reef serves lunch from 11:30-3:30 and dinner from 3:45-8:30pm.
The best way to get to Coral Reef from a Disney Resort is to take Disney transportation to Epcot, unless you are staying at an Epcot Area Resort. In that case, you can walk to the International Gateway for park entry. Now that Park Hopping has returned to Walt Disney World, buses will operate between theme parks should you take advantage of hopping on the day of your reservation. When you reach The Seas with Nemo and Friends, head to the right around the building and you’ll find Coral Reef tucked around the corner.
If you have seafood lovers in your party, or those that would enjoy watching the fish swim by in the reef, I would absolutely encourage you to give Coral Reef a try! We have loved the atmosphere they created and the relaxing get away while being in the park.
