San Angel Inn

Updated 6/16/22
For the most up-to-date information about the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, please visit the  Walt Disney World Know Before You Go Guide.

The San Angel Inn is located in the Mexico Pavilion of the World Showcase at Epcot. The entrance is inside the pyramid directly across from the Gran Fiesta Tour boat ride. The restaurant, which serves both lunch and dinner, has a charming Mexican village vibe to it with a giant pyramid and volcano off in the distance as the backdrop. I really enjoy the ambiance of his restaurant and how it flows with the rest of the pavilion.

With regards to seating, the tables are set rather close together which is something to keep in mind if you are the kind of person that doesn’t like bumping the person behind you when moving your chair back. If you can, request a waterside table which gives you a bit more space and offers a great view of the boats traveling on the Gran Fiesta Tour. I always love waving to my fellow Disney guests as they pass by seeing how many strangers I can get to wave back!

San Angel Inn is a table service restaurant that costs one credit on the Disney Dining Plan when available. Appetizers fall in the $12-14 range, although some (ex. salads) are available for less. Most of the entrees are $25 or more.

Some of the appetizers include Tostada De Pollo, chips and salsa, and Guacamole. Both are very tasty, especially the salsa which is made in-house. For an entree, a few of my favorite dishes are the Enchiladas de Pollo which are corn tortillas filled with chipotle chicken covered with salsa, sour cream, and cotija cheese along with refried beans and plantains on the side. Personally, I always opt out of the beans but still find the dish to be very good. Another solid choice is the Camarones a la Diabla which is sautéed shrimp served with Poblano rice and roasted cauliflower.

For the kids, the menu features a few options including tacos or quesadillas along with your basic chicken tenders and Mac and cheese if your little ones fall on the pickier side.

However, speaking honestly the food can be hit or miss. I’ve dined at this restaurant a handful of times and experienced a mix bag with regards to the quality of the entrees. The quality of food isn’t at the same level as other places within the World Showcase but the atmosphere and their signature drinks are the reasons I enjoy coming back to this spot. And speaking of drinks… If Tequila is your drink of choice you have come to the right place! The drinks at San Angel Inn are some of my favorite in Disney. You really can’t go wrong with any of their drinks but a few of my favorites are the San Angel Inn Margarita, the Blood Orange, and the Wild One. And if you are having trouble deciding, may I suggest the Premium Tequila Flight!

I highly recommend that you make an advanced dining reservation if you plan to dine here as the restaurant is very popular. Because it is located inside of Epcot, you will need a park ticket in order to dine here. You can get here using Disney Transportation, taking the Skyliner, or riding on a Friendship Boat. Lunch runs from 11:30 AM to 3:55 PM with dinner following from 4 pm to 9 pm.

Gaston's Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls

Cinnamon rolls are a must for me at Christmas and this is one of my favorite recipes for look-alike Gaston’s Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls! I found it on Inside the Magic , so all recipe credit belongs to them, but I have copied it below with some of my commentary and photos of my step by step process. Homemade cinnamon rolls are always going to be a bit time consuming, but these only have to proof for 40 minutes total so it’s really not bad at all! First things first, here are the materials you’re going to need: Mixer (one with a dough hook will make your life much much easier) and bowl Rubber scrapers Rolling pin 2-3 saucepans Microwave safe bowls An area big enough to roll them out 2 metal sheet pans with edges Measuring cups Measuring spoons Medium sized bowl for filling Liquid measuring cup The nice thing about the recipe is it uses pretty basic ingredients that you likely already have at your house. I went to Aldi and bought nearly everything just to see and it was about $20. And o
