Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen

Cruise your way over to Adventureland in the Magic Kingdom for a one-of-a-kind dining experience at the Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen! Inspired by the legacy of the Jungle Cruise, you’re sure to have a delightful meal full of bad jokes and world famous jungle cuisine.

The Skipper Canteen is open for lunch and dinner, and because it is located inside the Magic Kingdom, you will need both valid park admission and a park reservation to dine here at this time. To get to the Magic Kingdom, you can take your resort transportation to the front gate, and once you scan in, you’ll want to head down Main Street U.S.A. and to the left, towards Adventureland. A typical adult meal here will cost anywhere from $15-35. When dining plans are in play, this will use one entitlement per person.

I’m not gonna lie, this restaurant is a little out there, and while it’s super fun and I genuinely think there’s something on the menu for everyone, if you have picky eaters in your party, you will definitely want to check out the menu ahead of time. The ambiance here is incredible, especially if you’re a fan of the Jungle Cruise. The same skippers who guide you down the Nile are now welcoming you to HQ to enjoy a meal in either the Mess Hall, the Jungle Room, or the S.E.A. Room. Take a moment to stop and enjoy the artifacts that are on display in the restaurant - there are some really fun and interesting items to see. You can enjoy everything from a steak to fried chicken to a full fish - served in Jungle Cruise style. Plus, adults can enjoy specialty beverages, beer, and wine while dining here. And of course there are simpler options for your smaller cruisers like fried chicken tenders and mac & cheese.

I think this restaurant is super fun if you can snag a reservation and take a load off during a long park day. While I personally don’t love the Jungle Cruise (I know, I know, you can drag me in the comments, I deserve it), this restaurant is definitely worth it and has some great and interesting options for dining in the Magic Kingdom, which is otherwise pretty bland. I’m a personal fan of the “Tastes Like Chicken” because it is, but there are some great choices here for the more adventurous eaters in your party.

Gaston's Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls

Cinnamon rolls are a must for me at Christmas and this is one of my favorite recipes for look-alike Gaston’s Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls! I found it on Inside the Magic , so all recipe credit belongs to them, but I have copied it below with some of my commentary and photos of my step by step process. Homemade cinnamon rolls are always going to be a bit time consuming, but these only have to proof for 40 minutes total so it’s really not bad at all! First things first, here are the materials you’re going to need: Mixer (one with a dough hook will make your life much much easier) and bowl Rubber scrapers Rolling pin 2-3 saucepans Microwave safe bowls An area big enough to roll them out 2 metal sheet pans with edges Measuring cups Measuring spoons Medium sized bowl for filling Liquid measuring cup The nice thing about the recipe is it uses pretty basic ingredients that you likely already have at your house. I went to Aldi and bought nearly everything just to see and it was about $20. A...
