Be Our Guest

Updated 6/16/22
For the most up-to-date information about the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, please visit the  Walt Disney World Know Before You Go Guide.

Disney is home to many outstanding dining experiences. However, you would be hard pressed to find a more quintessential Disney experience than Be Our Guest. Located in Fantasyland inside the Magic Kingdom, it is not to be missed.

Not surprisingly, Be Our Guest took the inspiration for its decor from Beauty and the Beast. When you arrive for your meal, you will be seated in one of three areas: the Grand Ballroom, the West Wing, or the Castle Gallery. No matter where you end up getting seated for your meal, be sure to mosey about the rest of the restaurant when you are finished to experience the grandeur of the ballroom, the chill of the West Wing (enchanted rose included), or the delight of the Castle Gallery.

Currently, Be Our Guest is a Signature Dining experience for both lunch and dinner. Guests get to choose from a prix fixe menu that includes an appetizer, entree, and a dessert trio. Kids also select from a prix fixe menu, but one that is more oriented to kid-friendly taste buds. Non-alcoholic, non-signature drinks are also included. Menus change seasonally, but always have a french cuisine emphasis.

Lunch is served from 10:00 AM - 2:55 PM; dinner is from 3:00 PM-10:00 PM. As a Signature Dining experience, you can expect to pay $67 for each adult and $37 for each child, or pay two Disney Dining credits when those are in play.

In addition to the ambiance and the delightful menu, Be Our Guest has (at least) two other defining characteristics: 1) it is one of the only places inside the Magic Kingdom where you can enjoy an adult beverage with your meal, and 2) it is the only place in Walt Disney World where you can “meet” the Beast. During this time of social distancing, like the other available character dining experiences, Beast will wave hello from afar and is sure to pause for a moment while you take the perfect selfie.

Be Our Guest is one of the most popular spots on property to dine, so be sure to be ready to grab your dining reservation the morning they become available for your trip (your On the Road agent will ensure you know exactly when that is!).

I was lucky enough to grab a reservation at Be Our Guest during my October 2020 trip to Walt Disney World. I’m not much of a foodie, but I can state without hesitation that it was the best meal of my life. The lamb I enjoyed as part of my entree was cooked to perfection, dressed in a sauce that was both savory and sweet. My mom-cation partner in crime was also delighted by her sea scallops. The crowning touch was my own serving of the grey stuff for dessert (it is delicious!)!

A few notes about Be Our Guest during non-COVID times: breakfast and lunch are quick service dining experiences and have the distinction of being the only quick service restaurant on property requiring reservations. Dinner is the signature meal of the day and is also the only meal where the Beast makes an appearance. This appearance, rather than a spontaneous parade around the restaurant, is an individual meet and greet in another area of the restaurant, complete with PhotoPass Photographer.

Gaston's Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls

Cinnamon rolls are a must for me at Christmas and this is one of my favorite recipes for look-alike Gaston’s Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls! I found it on Inside the Magic , so all recipe credit belongs to them, but I have copied it below with some of my commentary and photos of my step by step process. Homemade cinnamon rolls are always going to be a bit time consuming, but these only have to proof for 40 minutes total so it’s really not bad at all! First things first, here are the materials you’re going to need: Mixer (one with a dough hook will make your life much much easier) and bowl Rubber scrapers Rolling pin 2-3 saucepans Microwave safe bowls An area big enough to roll them out 2 metal sheet pans with edges Measuring cups Measuring spoons Medium sized bowl for filling Liquid measuring cup The nice thing about the recipe is it uses pretty basic ingredients that you likely already have at your house. I went to Aldi and bought nearly everything just to see and it was about $20. A...
