For the most up-to-date information about the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, please visit the Walt Disney World Know Before You Go Guide.
Located at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campgrounds, the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is, “A hilarious, high-spirited hootenanny the whole family will enjoy, accompanied by a finger-lickin’ countrified feast.” This is one of the special dinner show experiences at Walt Disney World and happens three times each night. While it’s off the beaten path of the Disney Resort, it is certainly worth the trip. This is a popular experience, and we would definitely recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before the doors open at 4:00PM, 6:15PM, or 8:30PM. Seating will begin immediately, and the show will start 20 minutes later.Because the Hoop-Dee-Doo is over at the Fort Wilderness Campgrounds, there are a few different ways to get there. If you’re using resort transportation, be sure to give yourself plenty of time - we recommend at least an hour. There is no direct route between your resort and Fort Wilderness. The quickest way will be to get yourself to Magic Kingdom via Disney bus or monorail and take the ferry or a bus over to Fort Wilderness. If you take the bus, you’ll still need to get on the internal transportation bus over to Pioneer Hall. If you have your own vehicle, it will certainly be quicker, but we’d still recommend giving yourself about half an hour. You can park at the entrance to Fort Wilderness and then take the internal bus to Pioneer Hall. Rideshare or taxi is also an option.
If you’re on the Disney Dining Plan (currently unavailable), this experience will use two table service credits for Category 2 or 3 seating (you cannot use the Dining Plan for Category 1 seating), but you’ll get dinner and a show, and for those 21+, alcoholic beverages are actually included! If you’re paying cash, prices will vary depending on your seating category, ranging from $66-74 for adults, and $39-44 for children aged 3-9. Prices include tax and gratuity. Please note, ADA accessible seating is only available in Categories 1 and 2.
The Pioneer Hall Players will amuse you with two hours of singing, dancing, and Vaudeville-style comedy. You’re encouraged to sing along, clap your hands and stomp your feet all throughout the meal and show. Throughout, you’ll get to enjoy literal buckets of all-you-care-to-enjoy fried chicken and smoked BBQ pork ribs, green salad, baked beans, fresh-baked cornbread, and top it all off with strawberry shortcake for dessert. In exciting news, for older traveling parties (like my family, with me being the youngest and going on 26) unlimited draft beer, wine, and sangria are included for guests 21+ with proper ID AND soft drinks are included for all.
We thought this show was SO fun as kiddos, and I actually went again with my mom and some family friends on our last trip and it was equally as fun. The food is good. The show is fun. The drinks are included. There’s not much to complain about here! It’s certainly a fun way to end your day, especially if you’re having a non-park day. Plus, I will never forget watching servers bring the buckets of food out and dropping them on the table and startling my 8 year old cousin who then crawled into my aunt’s lap and stayed there for the remainder of the show. This is a rowdy and raucous show and is not for the faint of heart! But it’s good fun if you’re up for it!
