Updated 7/26/2022 Be sure to request a Resort Guide at the front desk so that you can have the most up-to-date information about resort happenings and schedules.
Driving through Golden Oak, you quickly realize that you’re not in Orlando anymore. The resort is located in an area that is mostly residential, which helps to provide quiet and serene surroundings. When you step into the main entrance, you are greeted by a grand staircase and chandelier that will stop you in your tracks and have you whipping out your cell phone to take a photo. The chandelier is reminiscent of the magical fireworks over Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom.
My traveling pal and I completed the online registration before arriving at the resort, so our visit to the front desk was brief. The young lady that checked us in offered to make dining reservations for us and made sure that we had all the information we needed to enjoy our first evening at the resort. During our stay, we used the chat feature in the Four Seasons App to ask questions and make requests. The guest services representatives that handle the chat accommodated our every request in a timely and efficient manner.
I can’t say enough good things about the rooms at the resort. I’ve stayed at many resorts in the Orlando area, and these, by far, are the most spacious and can easily accommodate all the “stuff” that families require when they travel. There was more than enough room to store our empty suitcases and the drawer and closet space is ample. The bathroom was huge and very well appointed with robes, thick towels, and individually wrapped toiletries. In addition to a shower, the bathroom included a soaking tub. And the balcony - it was a destination in itself! My friend and I enjoyed spending a part of each day out on the balcony, where we could see all of the Disney Parks. A balcony at the Four Seasons is the perfect location to experience the nighttime spectaculars at Walt Disney World.
Guests who book the park view guest rooms can order a "Glowing Fireworks Celebration" dessert to enjoy on the comfort of their terrace while viewing the fireworks and nighttime lights from Disney Parks. The celebration is intended for two adults and two children. Ask about this offering at the front desk upon your arrival.
Looking for a special treat for your young ones during a stay at the resort? Offered through the resort's Fable Boutique, guests can order a play tent and have it set up in their room as a fun surprise. Themes include princess, space/astronaut, holidays, and more. The tent folds up easily for transport in a suitcase and makes for a great souvenir.
The one pitfall to the rooms at the Four Seasons Resort Orlando is that they can only accommodate 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children. Families of five will require two rooms, but the fabulous team at the Four Seasons can guarantee a king room that connects to a room with two doubles. The biggest advantage to requiring two rooms is that you have twice the space to enjoy and two full bathrooms.
The public areas at the resort are a delight. The resort features 26 acres of fun for the whole family. In addition to the adult pool and family pool, guests should plan to spend a day enjoying Explorer Island - home to a family pool, splash zone, lazy river, and The Drop. Families can dry out over a game of beach volleyball, shooting hoops, or gaming at The Hideout. Four Seasons pool attendants are happy to help you scope out the perfect spot for your day, and they will provide towels and water as often as you need. During our afternoons by the pool, my friend and I noticed that staff members were handing out pre-packaged snacks to those who were enjoying the facilities. In addition, servers can provide you with food and beverages by order - just ask for a menu.
If lounging by the pool is not your speed, you can enjoy a round of golf, a game of table tennis or pool, or even round up the crew for a bocce ball match. Life size chess, foosball, and video games are also provided at the resort.
Perhaps one of the best hidden gems of this resort is the COMPLIMENTARY Kids for All Seasons program for kids ages 4-12. Yes, you read that right - the Kids For All Seasons program is free for resort guests. The program is offered daily and current hours are from 10am-noon and 1pm-5pm. Hours are subject to change. This gives parents the perfect excuse to lounge by the adult pool, enjoy an afternoon at the spa, or play a round of golf on the resort’s course.
Dining is not to be missed at the resort. In fact, my dining experiences at the resort were so delightful that I would not hesitate to recommend that guests who are not staying at the resort spend an evening there enjoying the culinary offerings. PB&G (Pool Bar & Grill) is a casual dining experience that offers food and drinks for the whole family to enjoy. The outdoor setting is a great place to take a break from your lounge chair to enjoy a bite to eat. Plancha is located at the resort’s golf course but can be enjoyed by resort guests as well. The lakeside restaurant serves a mixture of American clubhouse favorites and Cuban-inspired dishes. The Sunday Brunch (reservations recommended), was a highlight of my recent visit to the resort.
Capa is located on the 17th floor of the resort and is a signature steakhouse that serves fresh Florida seafood, Spanish-influenced tapas, and expertly grilled cuts. Capa has been named one of the best 100 wine restaurants in the U.S. by Wine Enthusiast Magazine. Capa is an adult only experience and is open select nights for dinner only.
My favorite dining experience at the Four Seasons Orlando Resort was at Ravello. The dinner my friend and I enjoyed was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. This modern Italian restaurant features house-made pizzas and pastas as well as the chef’s creative interpretations of regional Italian and Mediterranean cuisines. During our visit, the restaurant was offering a four course (but it really ended up being 6 courses) Autumnal tasting menu that was very well priced at just $55 per person. While most of the courses were set, guests had a choice of entree - either seafood stew or braised short ribs. The meal was so good that I could have easily been convinced to go back on another night and eat the same thing. Ravello is also home to the Good Morning Breakfast with Goofy and His Pals. This character meal is offered on select days, and you do not have to be a resort guest to make a reservation. This is a great option for Disney guests who are not able to find availability at a character meal on property.
In addition to these dining options, guests can grab a treat at Lickety Split, which serves quick bites, gelato, and fresh-made coffee drinks. Breakfast sandwiches at Lickety Split can be prepared to go so that you can enjoy them on your balcony. The Lobby Bar is open in the evening and offers a nice menu of bar bites, enticing entrees, and sweet specialties created by the resort’s talented pastry team.
