Yachtsman Steakhouse

Updated 6/16/22
For the most up-to-date information about the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, please visit the  Walt Disney World Know Before You Go Guide.

If you are looking for a truly fine dining experience at Walt Disney World, look no further than the Yachtsman Steakhouse. Found in the Epcot-area resort, the Yacht Club, dining at the Yachtsman will whisk you away from the Florida sun to the New England coastline where you can experience a variety of choice steaks and seafood.

Being a Signature Dining experience, the Yachtsman requires all guests to abide by a dress code. While suit and tie are not required, no swimsuits, coverups, or tank tops are allowed. (Check out the full dress code details here.) When available, guests with a dining plan are able to use their dining credits here, although note that it requires two dining credits and some items may be excluded from use with the Dining Plan.

The Yachtsman’s menu boasts of first course appetizers such as Beef Carpaccio and Lobster Bisque. Main course offerings include Filet Mignon with a cognac-truffle butter, Sweet Potato and Seasonal Mushroom Dumplings, and Peruvian-Barbecued Chicken. Your main course can be enhanced with a variety of add-ons and sides. The truffle macaroni & cheese has my mouth watering! The experience is topped off with your choice of delectable “traditional” offerings, such as Creme Brulee and Strawberry Shortcake, that are packed with flavor. A kids menu is available that has options for more grown-up tastes--like the baked fish of the day--to kid favorites, like macaroni and cheese. Dinner is the only meal offered at the Yachtsman and is usually served starting at 5:00 PM.

Coming from another resort, there is no straight shot to the Yacht Club. Your best option is to take a bus to any park but Epcot, and then transfer to a bus for the Yacht Club. You can also take a bus from your resort to Disney Springs and then transfer to the Yacht Club bus. Alternatively, you could take the Skyliner to the International Gateway entrance of Epcot, and walk to the Yacht Club from there.

When you visit Yachtsman’s, plan a little extra time to stroll over to the Boardwalk. It’s a very lovely walk after dinner and you can stop for dessert or an after dinner drink if you like. From the Yacht Club, it’s a quick walk to the International Gateway for Epcot, or you can head over to Hollywood Studios via Skyliner or boat.

Gaston's Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls

Cinnamon rolls are a must for me at Christmas and this is one of my favorite recipes for look-alike Gaston’s Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls! I found it on Inside the Magic , so all recipe credit belongs to them, but I have copied it below with some of my commentary and photos of my step by step process. Homemade cinnamon rolls are always going to be a bit time consuming, but these only have to proof for 40 minutes total so it’s really not bad at all! First things first, here are the materials you’re going to need: Mixer (one with a dough hook will make your life much much easier) and bowl Rubber scrapers Rolling pin 2-3 saucepans Microwave safe bowls An area big enough to roll them out 2 metal sheet pans with edges Measuring cups Measuring spoons Medium sized bowl for filling Liquid measuring cup The nice thing about the recipe is it uses pretty basic ingredients that you likely already have at your house. I went to Aldi and bought nearly everything just to see and it was about $20. A...
