Tiffins

Updated 6/16/22
For the most up-to-date information about the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, please visit the  Walt Disney World Know Before You Go Guide.

The story behind this globetrotting dining experience is a true Disney masterpiece. Themed around the worldwide traveling that Disney Imagineers took to gather inspiration and planning for the development of the Animal Kingdom Park, you will truly feel like you have stepped into a map of the world when you dine at Tiffins.

Tiffins is a signature dining restaurant located inside Disney’s Animal Kingdom, close to Pandora. Please note that you will need a park ticket to Animal Kingdom to be able to dine here. Tiffins isn’t only a beautiful restaurant to sit and have an amazing meal, there is also a story that goes behind the theming of the entire atmosphere. Disney Imagineers asked Disney’s Animals, Science, and Environment (ASE) cast members to share some of their field notes and pictures so that Tiffins could showcase how Disney’s conservation programs in Africa and Asia are making a difference in the world. The beautiful animal touches throughout, including a massive wall of illuminated animal sculptures in the main dining area, feature some of the animals that Disney’s ASE department is trying to save through their conservation program.

Tiffins is open for lunch and dinner. Lunch is served from 12:00 to 3:55 PM and dinner is served from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.

Some of the highlights include the Tiffins Signature Bread Service for an appetizer, which features Coconut-Makrut Lime Sauce, Indian Pappadam, Ginger-Pear Chutney, Brazilian Pão de Queijo, and Guava Jam for different spreading options. For entrees, some of the star meals include Tamarind-braised Short Rib, Butter Chicken, Whole-fried Sustainable Fish, as well as the Shrimp and Grits. Saving the best for last, dessert at Tiffins features a really fun option called The Lion King- which is Caramel Mousse, Chocolate Brownie, Strawberry-Mango Sauce, as well as the Tropical Trifle. Menu is subject to change. Please visit the Disney World website to confirm what items will be available during your trip.

Tiffins accepts the Disney Dining Plan (when available), however, since it is considered a signature dining restaurant, it will use two table service credits for both lunch and dinner. Prices for those not on the Dining Plan will vary, however, since this is a signature dining restaurant expect them to be on the higher end of your budget. Typical meals at Tiffins will run anywhere from $35-$60 per adult on average.

If you are looking for a unique dining experience with an amazing story behind its creation, this is truly a great option. As soon as you enter the restaurant you are greeted by a massive map of the world placed right behind the check in counter. Once you enter the main dining area, it immediately starts the story, with artwork, field drawings, and exhibits allowing you to take part in the adventure and love that the Disney company has for world conservation as well as insight into the hard work, travel and dedication it took to create the Animal Kingdom park. This is truly a meal that is inspired by the beauty of nature and love of the world around us. Or if you're not up for a full meal, you can stop by Nomad Lounge next door to get a taste of this unique experience.

Gaston's Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls

Cinnamon rolls are a must for me at Christmas and this is one of my favorite recipes for look-alike Gaston’s Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls! I found it on Inside the Magic , so all recipe credit belongs to them, but I have copied it below with some of my commentary and photos of my step by step process. Homemade cinnamon rolls are always going to be a bit time consuming, but these only have to proof for 40 minutes total so it’s really not bad at all! First things first, here are the materials you’re going to need: Mixer (one with a dough hook will make your life much much easier) and bowl Rubber scrapers Rolling pin 2-3 saucepans Microwave safe bowls An area big enough to roll them out 2 metal sheet pans with edges Measuring cups Measuring spoons Medium sized bowl for filling Liquid measuring cup The nice thing about the recipe is it uses pretty basic ingredients that you likely already have at your house. I went to Aldi and bought nearly everything just to see and it was about $20. A...
