Storybook Dining at Artist Point

Updated 6/16/22
For the most up-to-date information about the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, please visit the  Walt Disney World Know Before You Go Guide.

Storybook Dining at Artist Point is one of the more recent additions to the Disney character dining options. During this FABULOUS experience located inside the Wilderness Lodge Resort, everything from the food and drink, to the atmosphere, to the character interactions are worth checking out.

During this dinner-only event, you are transported into an enchanted forest for a meal with Snow White, Dopey, Grumpy, and the Evil Queen. As is standard for most character dining experiences, Snow White, Dopey, and Grumpy will make their way to your table for a greeting and pictures; at some point during your meal, you will be escorted over to meet the Evil Queen in her “lair” where a Photo Pass Photographer will be watching to ensure the Queen’s malicious faces are captured on camera. This is the ONLY place you can meet the Evil Queen on WDW property and, except for the holiday parties, where you can meet a dwarf or two.

If you are more interested in the food than the characters, you will not be disappointed. Each individual gets to choose their entree from the menu; Options include Prime Rib Roast, Herb Chicken, Pork Shank, and Fish. Everyone in the group shares the appetizers and the desserts and everyone in the group gets one of each. Guests can choose from the standard list of Disney beverages, but make sure to give the menu a review for specialty drinks (both alcoholic and non) that perfectly add to the experience.

As you can imagine, this is a HOT reservation. Make sure to work with your On the Road Travel Agent to be ready to grab your reservation at exactly 60 days before your trip. This is a one-credit meal on the dining plan (when available) and undoubtedly one of the best ways to use your dining credits. As of this writing, dinner will cost $65 per adult and $39 for children plus tax and gratuities and any specialty beverages.

To get to the Wilderness Lodge, head to the Magic Kingdom and then find the boat transportation. The Wilderness Lodge is the only Magic Kingdom area resort NOT on the monorail line, so make sure to go by sea.

For both the food and the magic, enjoying the meal at Storybook Dining will be on my list of “must-dos” for the foreseeable future.

Gaston's Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls

Cinnamon rolls are a must for me at Christmas and this is one of my favorite recipes for look-alike Gaston’s Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls! I found it on Inside the Magic , so all recipe credit belongs to them, but I have copied it below with some of my commentary and photos of my step by step process. Homemade cinnamon rolls are always going to be a bit time consuming, but these only have to proof for 40 minutes total so it’s really not bad at all! First things first, here are the materials you’re going to need: Mixer (one with a dough hook will make your life much much easier) and bowl Rubber scrapers Rolling pin 2-3 saucepans Microwave safe bowls An area big enough to roll them out 2 metal sheet pans with edges Measuring cups Measuring spoons Medium sized bowl for filling Liquid measuring cup The nice thing about the recipe is it uses pretty basic ingredients that you likely already have at your house. I went to Aldi and bought nearly everything just to see and it was about $20. A...
