Meet Me Monday: Tara Churney

We are so excited to welcome a new member of the On The Road Travel team! As a self-proclaimed Dis-nerd, Tara Churney has loved all things Disney since before she can remember. Tara grew up in Southern California, which gave her the opportunity to spend summers, family time, and even her high school graduation night at Disneyland. Once Tara got older, she discovered the magic of Walt Disney World and all of the wonder the different parks had to offer. Tara even spent a day in the life of a Disney Princess by walking down the aisle with her Prince Charming at Walt Disney World in 2015. Tara and her husband, Trevor, now visit the Disney parks on a regular basis and keep up to date with the latest Disney news. Tara loves to share with her clients her favorite places to eat, her best Disney travel secrets, and any off the beaten path Disney experiences that her clients might enjoy. She brings over 30 years of Disney experience to create the most magical experience for her clients.

When Tara isn’t planning or enjoying a Disney vacation, she works as a medical research manager and enjoys spending time with her family, stand-up paddle boarding, and playing with her dog, Dante. Tara is excited to share her love of Disney with her clients and can’t wait to plan the perfect Disney vacation for their personal needs and wishes.

Tara’s Favorites:
Favorite Disney Resort: Disney's Polynesian Village Resort
Favorite Disney Treat: Churros and popcorn
Favorite Disney Restaurant: Blue Bayou
Favorite Disney Souvenir: Jessica and Roger Rabbit pins. I have dozens of them and I am always looking for new ones.
Best Disney Vacation Memory: My husband and I got married at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa in October 2015. After the reception, we went with our guests to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom dressed up as a zombie bride and groom. We even got to take pictures together in front of the Haunted Mansion. It was the best way to celebrate our new marriage and party the night away with our family, friends, and Mickey.

Welcome to the team, Tara!

Gaston's Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls

Cinnamon rolls are a must for me at Christmas and this is one of my favorite recipes for look-alike Gaston’s Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls! I found it on Inside the Magic , so all recipe credit belongs to them, but I have copied it below with some of my commentary and photos of my step by step process. Homemade cinnamon rolls are always going to be a bit time consuming, but these only have to proof for 40 minutes total so it’s really not bad at all! First things first, here are the materials you’re going to need: Mixer (one with a dough hook will make your life much much easier) and bowl Rubber scrapers Rolling pin 2-3 saucepans Microwave safe bowls An area big enough to roll them out 2 metal sheet pans with edges Measuring cups Measuring spoons Medium sized bowl for filling Liquid measuring cup The nice thing about the recipe is it uses pretty basic ingredients that you likely already have at your house. I went to Aldi and bought nearly everything just to see and it was about $20. A...
