Meet Me Monday: Julie Boardman

We’re kicking off the summer by welcoming a new team member to the On The Road Travel family. Julie Boardman is the newest member of our team and we are excited to introduce her to you!

Julie’s love for Disney started back in 1986, when she was only 6 months old. That Christmas, her Mom took her to Walt Disney World for the very first time, and from that point on she was hooked! Julie and her family visited Disney World at least once a year up until she graduated high school. In addition to visiting Walt Disney World often, Julie and her family also visited Disneyland and sailed on Disney Cruise Line. Julie estimates her total number of Walt Disney World visits are in the hundreds and she will forever choose Disney as her #1 vacation spot! Julie has helped many friends and family members book their vacations over the years and is excited to start doing it as a career!

Julie went to college at Indiana University, majoring in Paralegal Studies, but decided after two years that she was ready for some adventure in her life! At the age of 20, she packed up everything she owned and hit the road, headed for Orlando, Florida. Once there, Julie got a job with The Walt Disney Company working in attractions at the Magic Kingdom. Being employed by The Walt Disney Company is something that Julie will cherish for the rest of her life - the insider tips and tricks she learned as a Cast Member will definitely be an asset to Julie in her new role with On The Road Travel!
Julie’s next career move took her to the court system of Orange County, where she was a trial clerk for five years. She was responsible for swearing in witnesses, taking evidence during trials, and reading verdicts. Julie was able to witness many court proceedings and enjoyed her time working in the legal system.

After living in Florida for seven years, Julie decided to move back to Indiana and take care of her Mom, who was battling cancer. While in Indiana, she met her fiancé, Richie and his two sons, Nolan and Wyatt. Julie and Richie have since added two more kids to their family, daughter Aubriella, and son Connor. Julie hopes to instill the love of Disney into her kids’ lives and has already taken them on multiple trips to Walt Disney World!
Seeing Disney through the eyes of her children is something Julie will forever hold dear to her heart. Watching her sons fight Darth Vader and Kylo Ren to become Master Jedis, seeing her daughter meet Ariel, and having Mickey give her infant son a sweet kiss on the forehead are just a few of Julie’s favorite memories! She now understands why her Mom was so passionate about introducing her the magic all those years ago!

Julie is so excited to join the team at On The Road Travel, LLC and help in creating wonderful memories for many families! You can connect with Julie on Facebook, by phone- 765-393-3223, or by email at julie@travelwithontheroad.com

Gaston's Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls

Cinnamon rolls are a must for me at Christmas and this is one of my favorite recipes for look-alike Gaston’s Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls! I found it on Inside the Magic , so all recipe credit belongs to them, but I have copied it below with some of my commentary and photos of my step by step process. Homemade cinnamon rolls are always going to be a bit time consuming, but these only have to proof for 40 minutes total so it’s really not bad at all! First things first, here are the materials you’re going to need: Mixer (one with a dough hook will make your life much much easier) and bowl Rubber scrapers Rolling pin 2-3 saucepans Microwave safe bowls An area big enough to roll them out 2 metal sheet pans with edges Measuring cups Measuring spoons Medium sized bowl for filling Liquid measuring cup The nice thing about the recipe is it uses pretty basic ingredients that you likely already have at your house. I went to Aldi and bought nearly everything just to see and it was about $20. A...
