Mardi Gras at Universal Orlando

Mardi Gras at Universal Orlando is family friendly, and as Universal says, “It’s Florida’s Biggest Party!"

The celebration runs every night from February 9 through April 4, 2019, at Universal Studios Park! (Remember there are 3 parks at Universal Orlando ---Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and Volcano Bay.)

You can enjoy and partake in the fun with nightly parades, colorful costumed performers, confetti and beads flying through the air, live music, New Orleans music/bands each night and Cajun food for purchase! Parade times vary---check your specific date of travel, app, or daily times guide.

This fun is all included in your theme park admission! If you would like your smallest travelers to have a better viewing spot---head to the Little Jester’s Parade Viewing Area located in front of the Brown Derby Hat shop, for an unobstructed view. It opens 1 hour prior to the parade.

There are also special ticketed packages for a Bayou Boil or a Dessert Party---all added parts of the Mardi Gras fun!

It might already be March, but it’s not too late for an On the Road Travel specialist to assist you with your EPIC vacation! You can experience a Universal trip in Orlando---while having the fun of Mardi Gras, as well!

As tradition goes for the kids in Magic Planner Suzanne and her sister, Cheryl’s families---at the age of 11---a letter from Hogwarts arrives by owl post---for a 1 on 1 trip to the Wizarding World---leaving the rest of the family at home! This was especially epic, as Magic Planner Suzanne, her sister, her nephew and her daughter were chosen to BE A PART of the Mardi Gras Parade! They were randomly chosen for this event, but did you know that you can sign up for this event by going to the kid zone when you enter the park?

It was such a blast--they threw out more than 2000 beads just amongst the 4 of them! As part of the parade, they were escorted behind the scenes and put into costume, and then boarded the parade float! What FUN, it was to be part of Florida’s Biggest Party---all family friendly, of course!

Gaston's Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls

Cinnamon rolls are a must for me at Christmas and this is one of my favorite recipes for look-alike Gaston’s Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls! I found it on Inside the Magic , so all recipe credit belongs to them, but I have copied it below with some of my commentary and photos of my step by step process. Homemade cinnamon rolls are always going to be a bit time consuming, but these only have to proof for 40 minutes total so it’s really not bad at all! First things first, here are the materials you’re going to need: Mixer (one with a dough hook will make your life much much easier) and bowl Rubber scrapers Rolling pin 2-3 saucepans Microwave safe bowls An area big enough to roll them out 2 metal sheet pans with edges Measuring cups Measuring spoons Medium sized bowl for filling Liquid measuring cup The nice thing about the recipe is it uses pretty basic ingredients that you likely already have at your house. I went to Aldi and bought nearly everything just to see and it was about $20. A...
