Making Disney Vacations Accessible to All!

Planning for a Disney vacation can be simultaneously exciting and overwhelming! It’s such an amazing trip to look forward to but it’s a challenge to manage all the details in an organized way. Families that include members with special needs have additional details that need to be addressed when planning for time away from home and daily routine.

Planning a vacation that includes people with autism and other special needs can best be met by someone who understands their unique needs and the detailed preparation involved in embarking on such a lengthy trip. At On The Road Travel you can plan with me, Dawn K. Zorilo, a Certified Autism Travel Professional (CATP) who also holds a Master’s Degree and New York State Certification in Students with Disabilities. In addition to formal training, I have years of experience working directly with children with special needs and their families. I understand the specific details and challenges that are involved and am ready to help you prepare! My assistance to families who include people with special needs goes beyond simply knowing and sharing the information and services that Disney has in place.

Asking specific questions and providing my clients with the opportunity to share their unique concerns and needs helps me to gain a lot of insight, which I use in various ways to plan the best vacation for your family. Some of the ways that I use this information to help include: helping clients select the resort that best suits their specific needs; choosing dining experiences that would be appropriate for their unique situations; narrowing down rides and experiences that would work for them, as well as letting them know to which experiences their family member may might not have a positive reaction; alert them to the different festivals or entertainment that may be going on and how they can best prepare for them; and assisting families that include a person who is nonverbal or has limited-language so that they can interact with characters in a way that is comfortable for them.

So don’t hesitate on planning your Disney vacation any more! Reach out to me today, and together we can make your Disney dreams a reality! My expert knowledge, guidance, and help with your unique situation come at no cost to you!

Gaston's Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls

Cinnamon rolls are a must for me at Christmas and this is one of my favorite recipes for look-alike Gaston’s Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls! I found it on Inside the Magic , so all recipe credit belongs to them, but I have copied it below with some of my commentary and photos of my step by step process. Homemade cinnamon rolls are always going to be a bit time consuming, but these only have to proof for 40 minutes total so it’s really not bad at all! First things first, here are the materials you’re going to need: Mixer (one with a dough hook will make your life much much easier) and bowl Rubber scrapers Rolling pin 2-3 saucepans Microwave safe bowls An area big enough to roll them out 2 metal sheet pans with edges Measuring cups Measuring spoons Medium sized bowl for filling Liquid measuring cup The nice thing about the recipe is it uses pretty basic ingredients that you likely already have at your house. I went to Aldi and bought nearly everything just to see and it was about $20. A...
