What is better than a birthday celebrated at Walt Disney World?! And, I am not just talking about kids! We have celebrated many birthdays at Disney and there are some great ways to add a little magic to your birthday celebration at Walt Disney World.
Get your button Disney has FREE buttons that they can provide to you to help you share your celebration. This Happy Birthday button lets everyone else in on the fun and you will be surprised to see how many cast members and other guests help wish your child (or you!) a happy birthday. This button also got us a couple of complimentary goodies (though this is never guaranteed)! Don’t forget to get your other children that may not be celebrating their birthday a pin too. Disney has pins that say “I’m Celebrating,” which you can write on so they can also have a button to wear.
Create a shirt A family reunion and Disney World are one of the few places where matching shirts are a must! You can order on Etsy or at a multitude of online shops. We love to have a customized shirt that also has a fun saying on it to show we are celebrating. There are so many creative geniuses on Etsy and Pinterest that can help you create a customized shirt. Or, maybe you are that creative genius and can use your Cricut and some vinyl to create it yourself. Either way – it adds some birthday magic to your trip!
Advanced Dining Reservation Whether you are planning a sit down meal every day of your trip, or you want to just have a special meal the day of your child’s birthday, be sure to book your advanced dining reservation up to 180 days before you arrive. Many first-timers don’t realize that you can’t stop by a sit down restaurant the day of and get a reservation. Most times you can’t even try the week of for many of them unless you get lucky because someone has cancelled last minute.
Mention your Celebration Magical moments can happen anywhere at Disney! Be sure to mention the celebration on your reservation, again when you are getting seated, and even to cast members when you are enjoying small talk. You may get anything from a special dessert to a special autograph from characters to something extra special and out of the ordinary! You never know what they may do for you, and at the very least you will get some special treatment! You may even be able to get a free ICEE at Club Cool in Epcot.
Create a Scrapbook Be sure to get Memory Maker so that you can download all images taken by Disney photographers. Through the technology of Magic Bands these photos are linked to your My Disney Experience account, and you can utilize them to make a small keepsake photo album to remember your birthday celebration.
