Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

If you are taking your 3-12 year old princesses to Walt Disney World, chances are that you have explored the option of Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique to give your princess the royal treatment. At Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, your little one gets to be transformed into a princess or gallant knight by choosing one of their hairstyle options and getting a makeover by a Fairy Godmother-in-training in their salon. Prices range from $65 to $450+.

We took our girls for the first time when they were 4 and 6 years old and we went with the $65 package and were more than thrilled with all that it included! Plus, if you have Memory Maker, you also get all of the pictures that the photographers take throughout the experience in addition to those taken during the photo session in their studio.

Our girls LOVED the special attention and pampering – both during the makeover and after! They got plenty of extra attention and royalty treatment while we walked through the park. It may be a little pricey, but our girls loved it and I honestly loved watching them have the magical experience. It is one of my daughters’ favorite Disney memories and made meeting the princesses that much more special!

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique has two locations – one inside Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom and one at Disney Springs. There are perks to each location. Many people prefer the one inside Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom because of the unique location and the hopes of scoring a reservation at Cinderella’s Royal Table the same day. That being said, getting a reservation at Disney Springs is often easier to secure. Disney Springs also has the benefit of smaller crowds and it can be a great extra activity on a day you don’t have park admission. We chose to do the location inside Cinderella Castle and don’t regret it at all!

A couple of tips:
Book and plan early! Reservations for Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique open at the same time as advanced dining reservations (180 days prior to check-in for those staying on Disney property). Reservations are only made over the phone and they fill up fast! I would recommend booking your Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for the same day that you plan to either have a character meal with the princesses or will be able to go to one of the greeting locations to meet the princesses. Also, remember that if you have an appointment at the location inside Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom, you must have a valid park ticket to get in. I would also recommend a mid/late morning appointment so that your princess can enjoy their makeover and hair-do all day long. Note that your reservation will not show up in your my Disney Experience schedule, so be sure to add it to your calendar!

Bring your own dress from home – If you have room in your luggage, you will save time and money by bringing your own princess dress (and maybe even shoes) with you to Disney for your princess to slip on over her clothes just before her session. Be sure to have other comfortable clothes and shoes in your park bag so your princess can change if they get uncomfortable. You can purchase a dress at the boutique as well, however it generally comes with a price tag of $60-$195.

Plan on an hour and a half – Online it says that the process takes 30-60 minutes, but you will want to plan for about 90 minutes in case they are running behind. Plus, this gives you plenty of time to get some pictures taken in the studio and around the castle before your next reservation or fast pass. Our experience took just over an hour, but they were running right on time for our reservation.

Waiting room – The space inside of the salon is pretty small, so if you have a larger party, there may not be room for all of you to watch the entire makeover process. It may also get a little boring for other children that aren’t participating! This may be a good time to split your party so your other children can enjoy something else nearby.

Hair before and after – Our daughters have long, CURLY hair and we made sure it was all brushed through before we arrived to our appointment (they will give you these instructions when you call for your reservation). Afterwards we found out they use A LOT of hairspray. For us, that was great because my girls slept in their ‘do and were able to wear it the next day and it still looked good after a couple of touch ups. But, once we did take it down – it was HARD to brush through. Just be prepared for anything!

Princesses over the age of 12? - If you have a princess that is over the age of 12 but still wants to have a similar experience, check out Disney’s Character Couture Makeovers for Adults.

We loved our Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique experience and the girls ask for it every trip now! If you have other questions, we can help answer those for you or book on your behalf, just contact your On The Road Travel Agent! You can also connect with us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!

Gaston's Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls

Cinnamon rolls are a must for me at Christmas and this is one of my favorite recipes for look-alike Gaston’s Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls! I found it on Inside the Magic , so all recipe credit belongs to them, but I have copied it below with some of my commentary and photos of my step by step process. Homemade cinnamon rolls are always going to be a bit time consuming, but these only have to proof for 40 minutes total so it’s really not bad at all! First things first, here are the materials you’re going to need: Mixer (one with a dough hook will make your life much much easier) and bowl Rubber scrapers Rolling pin 2-3 saucepans Microwave safe bowls An area big enough to roll them out 2 metal sheet pans with edges Measuring cups Measuring spoons Medium sized bowl for filling Liquid measuring cup The nice thing about the recipe is it uses pretty basic ingredients that you likely already have at your house. I went to Aldi and bought nearly everything just to see and it was about $20. A...
