Tips for Dining Plan Snack Credits

I’m the type of traveler that likes to have everything paid for before I get there. I try to make it all-inclusive as much as possible. Therefore, we usually purchase the Disney Dining Plan as part of our vacation to Walt Disney World. We keep it simple and just get the Quick Service plan. This means that we aren’t tied down to several reservations at sit-down restaurants. As of 2018, this plan comes with two quick service meals and two snack credits. If you plan the snacks correctly, they will fill you up just like a meal!

Some of our favorites include:
Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Bar
Churro
Sweet Bread (Kringla Bakeri, Norway, Epcot)
Soft Pretzel (Germany, Epcot)
Chocolate Covered Banana (Disney Studios)
Kaki Gori (Flavored Ice Cone, Japan, Epcot)
Minnie’s Strawberry Bar (many park locations)
Caramel Ginger Ice Cream (China, Epcot)
Shakes & Stuffed Pretzels (Animal Kingdom)
Make-Your-Own Fudge Cookie, Marshmallow Treats and Gingerbread Cookies (Goofy’s Candy Co., Disney Springs)
The Chocolatears (chocolate covered caramels), Cashew or Peach Pattie; Almond Turtle with Chocolate Mickey (Main Street Confectionary)
Cappuccino Float; Lemonade Slush (Enchanted Cove in Fantasyland, MK)
Frozen Lemonade (Westward Ho, MK)
Pretzel; Frozen drinks (Scuttles Landing, MK)
Fudge Brownie Sundae; Strawberry Shortcake Sundae; Regular Sundae; Float (Mrs Potts, MK)
Citrus Swirl; Floats (Sunshine Tree Terrace, MK)
Floats, Sundaes, Fruit Smoothies (Auntie Gravity’s, MK)
Baked Potato with Cheese (Liberty Square Market, MK)
Funnel Cake; Floats (Sleepy Hollow)
All Crepes (France Crepe Kiosk, Epcot)
Pretzel; Black Forest Cake; Cheesecake (Germany Sommerfest, Epcot)
Soup, Cold Salads, Fruits (Sunshine Seasons, Land Pavallion, Epcot)
Egg Rolls, Chicken Fried Rice, Mango Mini Pie (Anandupur, AK)
Hot Fudge Sundae, Milkshake, Float, Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich ( AK)
Chocolate Cake or Milkshake (Tamu Tamu, AK)
Cheesecake; Strawberry Parfait (Backlot Express, DHS)
Chips and Cheese; Pretzel; Frozen Drinks (Herbies, DHS)
Waffle Ice Cream Cone (Fife and Drum, Epcot)

The one snack I cannot leave WDW without having at least once (usually twice) is the Dole Whip Float. It is a piece of heaven for pineapple lovers: Pineapple soft serve ice cream with pineapple juice.

Another great tip is to use snack entitlements for the single serving samples at EPCOT’s Food and Wine Festival. You can get a small lobster roll or cheese soup and a pretzel to name a few.

Snack credits are a great way to explore all the different foods that Disney World has to offer, especially at EPCOT festivals! Plus, you can get some pretty filling treats with snack credits to help stretch out your dining plan! Keep in mind, a snack credit is worth about $5, so it's best to use them on eligible snacks that are worth $5 or more.

Gaston's Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls

Cinnamon rolls are a must for me at Christmas and this is one of my favorite recipes for look-alike Gaston’s Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls! I found it on Inside the Magic , so all recipe credit belongs to them, but I have copied it below with some of my commentary and photos of my step by step process. Homemade cinnamon rolls are always going to be a bit time consuming, but these only have to proof for 40 minutes total so it’s really not bad at all! First things first, here are the materials you’re going to need: Mixer (one with a dough hook will make your life much much easier) and bowl Rubber scrapers Rolling pin 2-3 saucepans Microwave safe bowls An area big enough to roll them out 2 metal sheet pans with edges Measuring cups Measuring spoons Medium sized bowl for filling Liquid measuring cup The nice thing about the recipe is it uses pretty basic ingredients that you likely already have at your house. I went to Aldi and bought nearly everything just to see and it was about $20. A...
