Welcome to the On The Road Travel Blog

Welcome to the new On The Road Travel Blog! We are a small business that specializes in Disney travel. My name is Chris Cook-Leitz, and I'm the owner of On the Road Travel. I just wanted to take the time to welcome you to this blog and introduce myself. I started working for Norma, one of the founders of On The Road Travel, in October 2008 after working for Land Grant Universities in three states.

My first trip to Disney World was in elementary school and I threw a fit because I didn't want to go into the Tiki Room because I was convinced the birds would poop on me. (My parents remind me of this often). Below is a picture of my family and I at Machu Picchu last December on an Adventures by Disney Trip. Rick and I have been married for 23 years and have two sons, Trevor (14), and Ethan (6). Since joining the team, I've been thrilled to expand our agency and develop a focus in Disney Travel.

Through this blog, you will have the opportunity to learn more about the On The Road Travel team and we will share our best nuggets of information, along with some stories, and experiences for all things Disney-related. Every now and then, we will also share information about some of the other vacations we book for our clients, including cruises, all-inclusives, and group tours. We can even assist you with visits to other theme parks and attractions in the Orlando area.

Did you know that On The Road Travel celebrated 24 years of business in October of 2017? Thanks to the vision and dedication of founders, Norma and Jim Jones, the agency has had a very successful run. If you’d like to learn more about the history of On the Road Travel, you can check out our website!

The travel industry has changed significantly over the course of the last 24 years, and as our team of agents grows, we strive to continue to provide the same high quality of service to our clients that Jim and Norma established 24 years ago. While we’re not the biggest travel agency in the market, the level of attention we provide to each and every client helps us to stand out from the crowd.

There is nothing better than a Disney vacation with your family. The amount of time and research that is required to work through all the details of a Disney vacation can be overwhelming and even exhausting. The solution is to use a travel agent that knows the ups and downs and ins and outs of Disney. The agents at On The Road Travel, LLC are graduates of The College of Disney Knowledge and have attended Agent Education Programs onsite at the Walt Disney World® Resort. In January of 2013, On The Road Travel was selected to participate in Disney’s Earmarked Program and earned the designation as an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner.

If you have a topic or destination you’d like to see featured on our blog, don’t hesitate to let us know – we’d love to hear from you! Or if you have photos or a review from your trip booked by On The Road Travel, be sure to share that with us as well!

We look forward to sharing with you through this blog!

Gaston's Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls

Cinnamon rolls are a must for me at Christmas and this is one of my favorite recipes for look-alike Gaston’s Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls! I found it on Inside the Magic , so all recipe credit belongs to them, but I have copied it below with some of my commentary and photos of my step by step process. Homemade cinnamon rolls are always going to be a bit time consuming, but these only have to proof for 40 minutes total so it’s really not bad at all! First things first, here are the materials you’re going to need: Mixer (one with a dough hook will make your life much much easier) and bowl Rubber scrapers Rolling pin 2-3 saucepans Microwave safe bowls An area big enough to roll them out 2 metal sheet pans with edges Measuring cups Measuring spoons Medium sized bowl for filling Liquid measuring cup The nice thing about the recipe is it uses pretty basic ingredients that you likely already have at your house. I went to Aldi and bought nearly everything just to see and it was about $20. A...
