Rainforest Cafe

Updated 6/16/22
For the most up-to-date information about the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, please visit the  Walt Disney World Know Before You Go Guide.

Our family loves enjoying a meal at Rainforest Cafe at Disney’s Animal Kingdom mainly for the rainforest themed environment, but also because their large menu has a wide range of options so we can all find something to enjoy.

Located near the main entrance of Animal Kingdom, the Rainforest Cafe does not require a park ticket. However, because of their location at the entrance of Animal Kingdom, you would need to pay for theme park parking if you are driving to the restaurant. Transportation to Rainforest Cafe is available via bus from Disney resort.

The Rainforest Cafe takes you on a journey into the jungle filled with animated animals to enjoy your meal. Anyone with kids that love animals or jungles will likely love the over the top theming in this restaurant. There are animated singing birds, elephants, and gorillas along with brightly colored tropical trees. They also have a fun gift shop filled with tropical and animal themed gifts.

The menu consists of quesadillas, cheese sticks, soups, salads, seafood, sandwiches, pasta, steaks, and more. The kid’s menu has over 10 options including grilled cheese, pizza, macaroni and cheese, chicken nuggets, etc. For those guests over age 21 that enjoy alcoholic beverages, the Rainforest Cafe does not disappoint. There are many options available. Our absolute FAVORITE dessert item on their menu was the Sparkling Volcano. It is a warm chocolate brownie, served with ice cream, whipped topping, chocolate, and caramel sauces. It is so delicious and large enough to share. Currently breakfast is served from 8:30-10:25 AM, lunch is served from 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and dinner is served from 5:05 PM to 7:30 PM. Advanced reservations are recommended for this location. Menu items are priced from $15 to $34.99 for adults.

We have enjoyed eating at Rainforest Cafe on multiple trips to Walt Disney World. The atmosphere does not disappoint and the variety of food makes it easy to appeal to each member in our family. The atmosphere is lively (read: loud) which makes it a great option for younger kids who are excited to be at Disney. The only drawback is that you can dine at the Rainforest Cafe across the US so if you’re looking for a uniquely Disney dining experience, you’ll likely want to look elsewhere.

Gaston's Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls

Cinnamon rolls are a must for me at Christmas and this is one of my favorite recipes for look-alike Gaston’s Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls! I found it on Inside the Magic , so all recipe credit belongs to them, but I have copied it below with some of my commentary and photos of my step by step process. Homemade cinnamon rolls are always going to be a bit time consuming, but these only have to proof for 40 minutes total so it’s really not bad at all! First things first, here are the materials you’re going to need: Mixer (one with a dough hook will make your life much much easier) and bowl Rubber scrapers Rolling pin 2-3 saucepans Microwave safe bowls An area big enough to roll them out 2 metal sheet pans with edges Measuring cups Measuring spoons Medium sized bowl for filling Liquid measuring cup The nice thing about the recipe is it uses pretty basic ingredients that you likely already have at your house. I went to Aldi and bought nearly everything just to see and it was about $20. A...
