Liberty Tree Tavern

Updated 6/16/22
For the most up-to-date information about the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, please visit the  Walt Disney World Know Before You Go Guide.

Liberty Tree Tavern, located in the Liberty Square section of Magic Kingdom, is the place to go for anyone who is happy to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner year round. Liberty Tree Tavern is a colonial-style inn that will take you a step back in time with its wood paneling, candelabra chandeliers, and fireplaces. There are six dining rooms, each of which is themed after an historical U.S. figure: Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, John Paul Jones, Paul Revere, Betsy Ross, and George Washington.

No matter where you are seated, you’ll be sure to experience amazing service from the waitstaff and find yourself with plenty of delicious food to enjoy. Food and drinks are brought to the tables in this all-you-care-to-enjoy restaurant and includes: Declaration Salad, Patriot’s Platter (roasted turkey, pot roast, oven-roasted pork, mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, herb stuffing, and house-made macaroni and cheese), and Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake. Plant-based options are also available if you ask your server. The meal includes tea, coffee, hot cocoa, chocolate milk, and soda. Cocktails, wine, beer, and hard ciders are available for purchase with your meal.

At the time of this writing, Liberty Tree is offering both lunch and dinner served family-style. This is a change from earlier in the year when a separate lunch menu was offered. Disney is making frequent changes, so be sure to review the Know Before You Go guide available online. Reservations are highly recommended. When Disney is offering Dining Plans, Liberty Tree Tavern requires one table service credit per person. Lunch and dinner start at $21 per child and $39 per adult.

The food at Liberty Tree Tavern is comfort food at its best. The meat is tender and delicious, paired with perfectly-seasoned vegetables. The macaroni and cheese is a big hit with kids, who often make it the largest part of their meal. Make sure you save room for the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake – it’s not to be missed! Don’t worry about finishing your favorite parts of the meal too quickly – servers will refill plates as needed! Reservations are highly recommended at this popular dining location no matter what time of year you’re visiting.

Because it is located inside Magic Kingdom, theme park admission is required to dine at Liberty Tree Tavern. You can use complimentary Disney transportation to get to Magic Kingdom from any Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, Disney World Theme Park, and Disney Springs.

Visit the Disney World website to view the current menu, operational information, and other restaurant-specific details.

Gaston's Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls

Cinnamon rolls are a must for me at Christmas and this is one of my favorite recipes for look-alike Gaston’s Tavern Giant Cinnamon Rolls! I found it on Inside the Magic , so all recipe credit belongs to them, but I have copied it below with some of my commentary and photos of my step by step process. Homemade cinnamon rolls are always going to be a bit time consuming, but these only have to proof for 40 minutes total so it’s really not bad at all! First things first, here are the materials you’re going to need: Mixer (one with a dough hook will make your life much much easier) and bowl Rubber scrapers Rolling pin 2-3 saucepans Microwave safe bowls An area big enough to roll them out 2 metal sheet pans with edges Measuring cups Measuring spoons Medium sized bowl for filling Liquid measuring cup The nice thing about the recipe is it uses pretty basic ingredients that you likely already have at your house. I went to Aldi and bought nearly everything just to see and it was about $20. A...
