The Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort

Image
For guests looking to experience Disney as well as the great outdoors, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Cabins are a perfect fit! These cabins are nestled in the woods, but amazingly within minutes of the Magic Kingdom. I absolutely love how these cabins are secluded with the perfect rustic touch, as well as some awesome onsite amenities that are perfect for every age! The Cabins at Fort Wilderness are considered a moderate resort, and the prices vary slightly depending on the season of travel. I strongly suggest this option for large families, or even friends/family that are looking to split the cost of a larger resort. By having the full kitchen, you can save money by preparing meals in the cabin. This resort is located on Bay Lake, which connects to the Magic Kingdom. This means you can take a relaxing boat ride to and from the park each day! If you love Disney classics like Davy Crockett and The Parent Trap, or your favorite themed land is Frontierland, then this resort is perfect for you …

Port Orleans Riverside Resort

Image
This week’s feature is on Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort, formerly known as Dixie Landings. It underwent this name change in 2001.

This is a moderate category hotel. It is expansive and features a lovely river with that “rolling down the bayou” theme. Disney’s theming is sensational and gives guests a feeling of an old Southern Mississippi river community.

It is a sure bet for families up to 5---or multigenerational family groups---that look to maximize their budget and sleep up to 5 guests in 1 room.

Port Orleans French Quarter Resort

Image
Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter (POFQ) is a moderate resort located along the Sassagoula River. In relation to the other moderate resorts, POFQ is much smaller and compact. It is themed beautifully to imitate New Orleans French Quarter architecture and splash in bits of the energy of Mardi Gras. The result is a wonderful balance of the beauty of Louisiana mixed with the energy of Mardi Gras (without the party). The housing buildings are pink and blue with iron lampposts and shuttered windows. The grounds are landscaped with vines, magnolia trees, beautiful lush greenery, and fountains. Resort Address: 2201 Orleans Drive Lake Buena Vista, Florida 32830 Room Accommodations: POFQ has 1,008 guest rooms housed in 7 three-story buildings along the Sassagoula River. Rooms are decorated in keeping with the New Orleans French Quarter theming and the typical room accommodates 4 guests plus 1 child under the age of 3 in a crib.   POFQ has the following view options: Standard View – 2 queen bedsGa…
